Steam Drums

Steam Drums are an essential part of the boiler system. They not only accumulate, hold, and distribute the steam produced by the boiler, they also remove excess water and solid residuals by implementation of proprietary internal components to produce high steam purities.

Depending on physical size, steam drums are shipped separately for field assembly, or when shipping dimensions allow, shop assembled to the boiler with all circulation piping welded in place. When field assembly is required, erection supports are provided that simplify the assembly process by allowing the steam drum to be set in place and secured with no further need of crane support while piping is installed. Steam Drums are often installed at various elevations relative to boiler location. In this case the steam drum is free standing and supported by its own saddle supports.
